This was one of those newborn baby and family sessions where even though we had a plan going in, we had to adjust as we went. As soon as the family arrived, the older brother made it very clear he did not want to be there. Like I said, it didn’t go exactly as planned, but at the end of the session, we still got some pretty adorable photos.
Sleepy Baby Boy
We started with just the newborn baby boy since he was pretty sleepy, which was perfect! I have to tell you, this little boy let me do just about anything I wanted to. He never even opened his eyes or made a peep! Mom and dad chose some lighter browns and creams to wrap him up in. I was pretty excited when they asked to use the nightcap because it is one of my favorite accessories. This little boy was just amazing the entire time.
Some Newborn Family Love
Next we went into family photos. I cannot stress enough how much you will enjoy these photos for years to come. Rotating between just mom and dad, mom and siblings, and everyone together, it was pretty obvious how much this little family adores each other. Family pictures like this can be challenging, but I have to give credit to mom and dad. They kept their calm and tried as hard as they could to keep their babies happy.
Newborns and Their Siblings
When it came time for sibling pictures, we knew we were in for a challenge. As amazing as it would be to have everyone smiling and happy in all the pictures, I think it’s equally special to show just how unsuspecting and ‘real’ kids can be. For me, it’s always fun to capture an upset kid every once in a while because that’s who they are. It’s just kids being kids. We did manage to get an incredibly sweet photo of all the kids happy, sitting on a bed. It was the perfect last shot!
