A little Bunny came to see me…. – Bucks County PA Baby Photographer – Doylestown, PA

Funny Bunny goes hop, hop, hop.

Funny Bunny please stop, stop, stop.

Wiggle your ears, and crinkle your nose.

Then wiggle, wiggle, wiggle,

Right down to your toes, toes, toes.

This little cutie came to see me again. This time for her 6 month old session. Since Easter is coming up, we had to break out the easter bunny outfit. This very girl spring session was just what I needed to break away from the Winter blues. Enough with Winter already! Where is Spring???

Just when you thought naughty couldn’t be cute

Just when you thought naughty couldn’t be cute

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

Wait, that’s not right….

Santa’s elves have been partying it up. Now that Christmas is almost here, it’s time to report to Santa. Who’s been more mischievous? Our kids, or our elves?

Elf Kapone wore himself out making snow angels, toilet papered the house, and fell asleep on the job…… Not much to report.

Elf Emma got drunk on cookies and milk, got caught up in the moment, and opened up all the presents….. Hmmmm what to tell Santa?

Elf Ava had lots to do. Mochaccino? Done! Marshmallows? Done! Knitting a sweater? Uhhh. Not quite…. Still so much to do…

Elf Avery was a busy little one. She got a sugar high, opened all the letters to Santa, and crashed in front of the computer…. Ooops!

Elf Declan wanted to go fishing but it was too cold outside so he decided to play with some Goldfish instead…. Sorry!

Elf Benjamin wanted to get lucky but all he could do was play with Lucky Charms instead…. Oh Santa, what can I say?

What do you think of our Elves?

My Baby’s Cake Smash Session – Bucks County Photographer | Doylestown PA

This post is bittersweet. My baby girl just turned one. Our journey to get here was a long one but it is one I will treasure because it brought me one of my biggest joys. My babies. My first two babies were both preemies and they were both tough pregnancies, so deciding to have a third was a very difficult decision. Trying to conceive her felt like such a long road and I thought that my dreams of having a third baby would never come true after my ectopic pregnancy and the removal of my right fallopian tube. Just as we had given up hope, she decided to appear into our lives like a rainbow we never expected.

This year flew by. I still remember being pregnant. I still remember her kicking me in the ribs. I still remember the nausea the first 6-7 months of my pregnancy. I remember the birth. Her hip dysplasia diagnosis. Those long months of her in a full body brace. Her trying to roll over, sit up, crawl, stand, and now she is walking. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. But for now, I will enjoy her, and remember her as she is. Her sweet chubby smiling face, her ability to turn anyone’s face from a frown into a smile, her kisses, her baby giggles, her cries, and most of all, her love.

There were too many cake smash photos for me to choose from so I decided to post all my favorites.

Custom Cake from The Lucky Cupcake Company. Custom Backdrop Flowers by Paper Flowers – Sara. Dress from Dollcake.

Newborn Baby Girl Arika – Bucks County Newborn Photographer, Doylestown, PA

This newborn baby girl was so sweet. She gave me the biggest smile in the froggy pose. Getting a smile from a newborn while in that pose is like winning the lottery for a newborn photographer. Most newborns love this pose and a lot of them fall asleep in this pose as long as their bellies are full. I have been a newborn photographer for 5 years now and newborn photography still amazes me. I love how every baby is different and not every baby will do every pose. Some babies like being on their tummy and some love being on their backs. Some babies only like to be swaddled and some are just chill. This sweet baby girl was happy, smiley, and chill. One of my favorites!

My daughter has hip dysplasia

It has taken me a while to come up with this post. I have been trying to find the right words to explain what we have gone through but no words can quite describe it so I will just have to try my best.

My daughter has hip dysplasia. She was diagnosed when she was 2 months old and I was heartbroken. Apparently, it is in our family and I had no idea. Infant hip dysplasia is developmental and is also called a dislocated hip. Her hip did not develop completely so it was more prone to dislocation. She did not display any signs of pain and I was in shock. I blamed myself, I went over every single thing I did or did not do. Did I cause this? Eventually, I came to terms with it and I know it wasn’t my fault.

She had to wear a full body brace 24/7 for 14 weeks. It might not seem that long but it was the longest 14 weeks of my life. When we went into the doctor’s office to put it on her, I was sobbing. She screamed the entire time and I felt horrible that she had to wear this thing that looked so uncomfortable. Although, after a few days, she got used it it. She felt no pain and was still her happy self. I on the other hand took a lot longer to get used to it.

Nursing was difficult as I could only position her one way. She could not have a bath, the one thing that she loved before bedtime, and I had to sponge bathe her. Sponge bathing her took about 30mins every day. Everytime she spit up or it something got on her outfit, it would take another 30min to change her. It was a very tedious and arduous process and I was mentally and physically tired but I knew it had to be done.

It was one of the happiest days of my life when they told us we could remove the brace 14 weeks later. The funny thing was, she didn’t even notice that it was off. When I finally put her in the bathtub, she screamed the whole time. She had forgotten what a bath felt like I was afraid she would never like it. I can admit when I am a worry wort and I know I am. It took her about a week to get used to the bath but now she absolutely love it and the sound of her kicking the water, making a huge mess makes my heart swell.

I did take pictures of her in the brace and I took some photos of her after they were off. I know that while it was a traumatizing thing for me to go through, it did not faze her at all and in the long run, it was the best thing that could have happened. We are so happy that our pediatrician caught it when he did. If he hadn’t, it would have taken even longer to fix it and it would have been even more difficult to fix. Now, we have to monitor her hip with X-rays until she is 8 years old and it scares me so much that she might dislocate it again but I know I cannot live in fear. I know that I need to just live in the moment, and love her, and enjoy her. I have to have faith that everything will work out the way it was meant to and not worry too much. Words to live by…..

Worry Wort…
