I love making each Newborn Session special and memorable for my clients, and custom designing each set-up for them. If these photos are going into a specific room, I want the set-up to coordinate so that the photo will work perfectly on my client’s walls. For this Succulent Newborn Session, this family sent me a picture of their nursery and it had succulents and a farmhouse feel so I designed the entire session around that.
Here’s a sneak peek into my latest Newborn Session.
Succulent Newborn Session
Being a photographer is so special to me because I love being a part of my clients’ lives. I feel honored that I get to continually photograph each amazing milestone. From Maternity to Newborn to Baby sessions, I get the privilege of seeing the babies become children and to watch the love grow in each family. I had the joy of photographing Mom and Dad before he got deployed, and then they came back for her Maternity and Newborn sessions with their little girl. When Mom received the happy news that she was pregnant again, with a little boy, I had the honor of photographing his Newborn Session!
Since their nursery had a succulent theme, I decided to incorporate succulents into some of the set-ups. His nursery also had a farmhouse feel, so I used my antique barnwood planks as a backdrop. He looks so peaceful sleeping in my wooden crate surrounded by those beautiful plants. My antique wagon is one of my favorite props to place newborns in and because dad had a love for all things to do with tools, we added my little tool box next to him. To finish off the nursery theme, I posed him in my antique metal bucket with some cream wraps.
Sweet Dreams
He was such a great sleeper, so I did a bunch of different set-ups. Mom loved blues and greens so we incorporated those colors in some of the setups. I placed him in my little wooden bed and added some different textured layers in light green. For more posing ideas, check out of Pinterest Page. Next, I wanted some shots of him sleeping unwrapped. Just look at the adorable face he makes as he sleeps wearing just the white knit hat. His little lips are too cute! Finally, I posed him on my blue flokati rug from Luneberry. The light blue color makes his newborn skin look extra rosy and shows off his dark hair.
Big Sister Love
I always love doing sibling shots during my deluxe newborn sessions. At first, Big Sister wasn’t too excited or happy about posing in a picture with her brother. We took the first picture at the beginning of our session. Her crying face was just so cute that mommy & daddy had to buy it!!!! We decided to try again later to get the same pose hopefully with some smiles. Luckily, Big sister was ready and excited to hold her little brother. I don’t think her smile could have been any bigger! Just look how peacefully he sleeps in his sisters arms. I loved photographing this Succulent Newborn Session and was so happy I got to see this family grow into this perfect family of four.
