Ice Cream Cake Smash

I scream…You scream… We all scream for an Ice Cream Cake Smash!!! As a Bucks County cake smash photographer, I have so much fun working with parents to come up with unique fun themes to help capture a year of milestones in the making.

This particular family wanted an ice cream theme.  The finished product was simply adorable.

Once we had decided on the ice cream cake smash theme. I began researching items for the set-up.  The cake was made by our local baker The Lucky Cupcake  with the majority of the items coming from Amazon.  However I still had the issue of having ice cream under studio lights.  As we all know, in room temperature, ice cream melts. Melted ice cream would definitely spoil all the fun.  I was able to come up with a creative solution … Make It Or Fake It Ice Cream. It took me a few tries to get it just right, but the finished product made it all worth it.

The Cherry On Top

I love using my creative side to bring parent’s vision to life.  The real fun however, starts when we add the birthday child into the scene.  Seeing them light up when they see that cake that’s all for them, it always puts a smile on my face.  Even if the cake smash is chaotic and baby just wants to crawl around, being able to capture those smiles and giggles makes me so happy that this is my job!

One Full Year

Of course hitting this 1st birthday milestone isn’t just about eating ice cream and smashing cake. It’s also about seeing these little ones grow and change.  So I always include a separate set-up, which truly showcases the baby as the toddler they truly are now.
