This gorgeous mom wanted cherry blossoms in her maternity photographs so we ventured to the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park. It was my first time there and I was amazed. It was so beautiful, the weather was warm and I couldn’t be happier. There were a lot of people there but we managed to skirt around them. I love cherry blossoms and I wish they would bloom year round. I guess if they bloomed all the time, people wouldn’t appreciate the beauty as much. It’s such an honor to capture a beautiful maternal moment in the midst of such a rare flowering occurrence.

Outdoor maternity sessions are so much fun and this couple made it even more fun by bringing a bunch of things they wanted to incorporate into their session. I love when images are filled with things that are special to my clients and it is even more special when someday, these things are used in the nursery.

I cannot wait to meet this little one and I can imagine that one day, this little one will be told plenty of stories about how cold it was that day when mommy and daddy were out trying to document this very important moment in their lives, and about how windy it was when we were trying to capture the little details. It was a challenging maternity session but it was so worth it!

Looking forward to Spring outdoor maternity photography sessions? Here’s a little sunshine sneak peek for you. This beautiful mom wanted sunset maternity photos and even though it was freezing out, we ventured outdoors and we were rewarded with a beautiful sunset. Thank you mother nature! I love doing maternity shoots outdoors as much as I love in-studio maternity photos. It is a very different, organic feel and the sunsets are gorgeous. I am sure that one day, their children will see these pictures and wonder what mom and dad were thinking at that time. This is why I love photography because it freezes this special moment in time and it is something that can be passed on for generations to come.

When this beautiful mom came to me for her maternity session, she told me that her husband wasn’t there because he was still in Afghanistan. I really admire women who love men in all sorts of uniformed professions. My husband was a cop, then a detective and I remember those nights when he would get called out and remember not knowing what would happen.

Fortunately, dad will be back when baby comes and I am so happy for this beautiful couple that they get to enjoy this next part of their lives together. I incorporated his tags in the maternity photos and knowing dad will be here for her newborn session makes me so happy for them.

I was so excited when this beautiful mom-to-be of newborn twin boys contacted me to do her maternity photos and her newborn photos. We had so many ideas and we shared so many things via Pinterest. I love collaborating with my moms. It brings such personality to the sessions and I know without a doubt that each session will be unique to them.

The session was so much fun because first, we got to play with their “first babies”. Their beautiful puppies! After we got done wrangling them, lots of work and laughter by the way, we got to play with so many different props, different angles, and poses. I loved that we achieved so much variety in the maternity gallery. I would love to share them all but I will instead share some of my favorites.

I cannot wait to meet these twin boys. It will be amazing to do a before and after shot of them both laying on mom’s belly and comparing it to the photo with the blocks spelling out TWINS. CANNOT wait!
