Pregnancy is so beautiful. It’s an exciting time anticipating your little one’s arrival, wondering what he or she will look like. I love capturing this special time in a couple’s life. I especially like it when I get to do an outdoor photoshoot. One of my favorite local places to photograph is Tyler State Park in Bucks County, PA.  It has so many gorgeous streams, rock beaches, fields, and trees to create a stunning backdrop.  Here is a little peek into my recent Tyler State Park Maternity Session.

Tyler State Park Maternity Session

This gorgeous mama was so full of joy anticipating the arrival of her little boy.  We decided to do a few different locations around Tyler State Park. I love shooting down by the stream, as the rock beds and trees make for a beautiful background. We had her pose on one of my favorite go-to outdoor props, my antique wooden ladder. I loved her in the green dress as she stood out against the neutral tones around her.

We then chose to take some photos in the nearby field. The golden colors of the grass complimented the beautiful pink tulle dress she wore. This dress is one of my favorites from my collection. For other great Maternity wardrobe ideas, please check out my Pinterest Page. I loved how her husband decided to join in the photos as well. Seeing the love they have for each other melted my heart. They were so cute when they posed with their gigantic blue balloon and added such a memorable touch to their photos. I was so excited when I got to meet little Beckham a few weeks later.  To see Beckham’s Newborn Session, please click here.

I love being a Maternity photographer, and hope that I will have the honor of photographing your pregnancy!

I have photographed a lot of newborn babies.  Some are great and spend the entire session sleeping, never making a peep. Then there are those who just want to check out the world, and take a lot of soothing.  As a mother to 3 kids myself, I know that all babies are different. Even within a family, the kids completely vary with their habits and personalities.  What one kids loves, another hates and vice versa. This is even true for babies as young as newborns.  Awake or asleep, I am always able to capture some gorgeous moments, and beautiful photos. Here’s a little peek into Sophia’s Newborn Session.

Sophia’s Newborn Session

Meet baby Sophia. A few years ago, I had pleasure of photographing her older sister when she was a newborn. I remember her sister being very quiet and easy soothe and pose.  Unlike her sister, Miss Sophia was a very awake baby.  She was so cute looking at the camera and was more content checking out the room than sleeping. It took all my tricks to soothe her to sleep, but then I was able to get her into some adorable set-ups.

I love using my little antique bed with her. Layering all the different throws and wraps added depth and interest to the photo. Adding the lace bear hat was the perfect finishing touch. The sibling photos came out adorable. The girls looked so angelic both in white.  I also loved the huge smile on her big sister’s face when posing with Sophia and her Dad.

I love newborn awake shots because their personality tends to show, even for a moment. Parents always love the sleeping shots in my portfolio but they ADORE the awake shots! I try to get both during the newborn session.  For other posing ideas, check out my Pinterest page.

For Baby Grady’s Newborn Session, his parents chose a gray and white elephant theme for his nursery, so I worked with those colors for all his set-ups. They brought this precious stuffed elephant and wanted me to pose him with it. How cute does he look snuggled against the elephant.  It was not an easy task posing the elephant with the baby but we made it happen!

One elephant went out to play
Upon a spider’s web one day.
He had such enormous fun,
He called for another elephant to come… “Oh, ELEPHANT!”

I also couldn’t stand how adorable his little baby cheeks were in the froggy pose; he was a big baby at over 9 lbs. Although my goal is to get as many poses as I can with the baby sleeping, I love how the photographs came out with him awake. Looking right into the camera, he couldn’t be any cuter! Grady was so good about letting me pose him. For other posing ideas, check out my Pinterest page. Mom and dad jumped in too for some wonderful family poses, and some individual shots as well. I hope these will be wonderful memories they will cherish forever.

I especially liked wrapping Grady up and putting him in my antique wooden bucket. Just look how peacefully he slept while wrapped.  I love being a Newborn Photographer, and I love creating beautiful works of art for my clients. Baby Grady’s Newborn Session is just one of many I do a month. Because I only book 2 sessions a week, I do book up fast so please do contact me as soon as you can to inquire about a session!

When people think of newborn photos, they think of these tiny little babies in adorable poses peacefully sleeping away.  However, any parent can tell you that keeping babies asleep is no small feat in and of itself. The challenge for a Newborn photographer is getting your little one to sleep and keeping them snoozing away. It’s not such an easy task, but as a trained professional I know the tricks to keep your baby in slumber land so I can capture those memorable photos.

Have the Baby Come Prepped

I always tell my clients that Newborn sessions are best completed within the first 10-14 days after your baby is born. This is when they are extra sleepy and keeping babies asleep is a more manageable feat. This is also when it is easier to place them into those beautiful poses you see in my Newborn Gallery . To ensure a sleepy baby, it helps to keep your baby awake about an hour before the session.  A good idea is to give your baby a warm bath right before it is time to come to my studio so baby is awake and alert for a longer period of time. I also encourage moms to bring a few bottles of formula or pumped breast milk, enough to last the whole session, if you are pumping or supplementing with formula. Pacifiers are essential to bring as well, because I use it to help soothe baby when I try to get them into position.

Keeping Babies Asleep

Newborns have a difficult time regulating their own body temperature, which can keep them awake. My studio is usually kept between 80-85 degrees which babies absolutely love. This keeps them warm and comfortable throughout the session.  Newborns also love noise so I keep a white noise machine on constantly to relax them into a deep sleep. Newborn sessions are never rushed and usually last between 2-3 hours. This allows for plenty of time for extra feedings, burping, and soothing. Babies are all very different and some may sleep the entire session, while others may take a bit more soothing throughout the session. Your session will be the only newborn session that I book for the day as I like to keep everything relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.

Awake Baby, Go with the Flow

There are occurrences when no matter what we try, the baby just wants to stay awake. Even if your child is awake, I can still photograph some beautiful images. Seeing your little one’s open eyes, checking out the world, can make for a memorable photograph. Below are some of my darling clients who just wanted to stay awake. The best gift you can give yourself is something that makes you feel confident and sexy. As a Bucks County Boudoir Photographer, I want to celebrate women and their bodies.  I want to bring out your inner goddess and make you feel gorgeous in your own skin.

As a mom myself, I think about how women can lose touch with their sexual side after having children. We may feel different about our bodies, which have now changed since being pregnant. Mothers are so focused on being there for our kids that we can forget that we are also partners, wives and lovers. We may feel less sexy or desirable, but as a Bucks County Boudoir Photographer, I want to empower moms to reclaim their sexiness and love their bodies again.

Boudoir Photography Session – Bucks County Boudoir Photographer

My client wanted a Boudoir Photography Session as her push present for having her second child. She was ready to step away from being “Mom” and reintroduce herself to the woman she had forgotten. This was her time to take a moment for herself and celebrate the goddess she knew she and inside. She wanted to embrace her newly-changed body and bring her sexy back.

She was so excited to be pampered for the day. Our glam hair and make-up team worked with her to make her look and feel gorgeous.  She found some fabulous lingerie from Victoria’s Secret and Candie’s. It was important that she felt a level of comfort and trust with me as I posed and photographed her. Once we started shooting, she said how free and sexy she felt and had a lot of fun trying lots of different poses. Take a peek at some of the striking poses from my Boudoir photo shoots. At the end, she said the photo shoot made her feel confident in her body again. She remembered what it was like to be a woman, and a sexy one at that. There is nothing more satisfy about being a Bucks County Boudoir Photographer than hearing the effect my photo shoots had on my clients.

So as a present for yourself or someone else, a fun Boudoir Photography Session can be a great way to bring out that inner vixen and have a fabulous time pampering yourself. Click here find out how to bring your sexy back.
