Is there anything cuter than a cake smash photo session? This little sweetheart came to my photography studio to celebrate turning a year old and we had so much fun!

Since cake smashes can get a little messy, I usually start off with portraits. We went for neutral colors and a lifestyle feel for this little cutie’s baby portraits. She was so smiley the whole time!

Once we’d gotten our one-year baby pictures, it was time to change from dress to t-shirt. I had ordered a pink and white cake in a cupcake design. Love it! It had all the daintiness of a cupcake, but in a size that was fun to smash and great for pictures.

Cake Smash Photo Session + Bubble Bath

You never know how a baby will react when presented with a cake almost as big as she is. This birthday girl didn’t do a lot of smashing–too neat and tidy for that!–but we finished up with a bubble bath all the same. She ended up having a blast splashing in the water and playing with the suds! Who knew it was that much fun to get squeaky clean?
